Brooke Schafer (born. 1994) is a visual artist and writer from Durban, South Africa.
She studied Fine Art at the Durban University of Technology where she graduated with her BTech, Cum Laude in 2017, and later her master’s degree before relocating to Cape Town in early 2020. As a student, Schafer was awarded the Sam Newton Fine Art Trophy and later participated in the 2016 Emma Smith Art Scholarship Award.

Schafer’s work has been showcased in several exhibitions. Most recently her work was exhibited in the RMB Turbine Art Fair as part of the ‘First Look’ showroom She(ared). Her work has also featured in publications such as SA Art Times, Vogue Living Australia and Between 10and5.
​
Schafer’s multidisciplinary practice encompasses a range of mediums. Her subject matter is often tongue-in-cheek, a form of visual autoethnography that explores her experiences through the depiction and reimagining of the human form.
